There is a series of NSN's assigned for absorbent materials used in containment and cleanup of hydrocarbon spills. 

This product line, in various configurations, is much lighter than clay and more environmentally sound than typical absorbents. 

Fourteen times more clay is required than P.O.L. Sorb in cleaning up your spills. Because it is much lighter than clay, 

the amount of product handled and the disposal costs are significantly reduced. 

MOGAS vapors are reduced from 100% to 10% with P.O.L. Sorb, thereby reducing the chance of explosion significantly.

P.O.L. Sorb is hydrophobic, which means it is allergic to water. This allows for effective clean up of fuels in wet conditions. 

You can place a pad under a vehicle, right on the ground, and it will catch all your Class I, II and III leaks, but not soak up any water. 

P.O.L. Sorb is non-leaching, using an encapsulation characteristic that prevents liquids from being released back into the environment.

Introducing P.O.L. Sorb

Die umweltsmäßig bevorzugte Weise, herauf POL zu säubern wird verschüttet!

Es gibt jetzt eine neue Reihe von NSN (National-Versorgungs-Nummern), die für die Absorbierung von Schadstoffen und zur Beseitigung von POL (Petroleum, Öl und Schmierstoffen) benutzt wird. Diese Produktionsreihe, genannt P.O.L. Sorb, ist in verschiedenen Formen erhältlich, ist viel leichter als Ton und wesentlich umweltfreundlicher als andere typische Ölbindungsmittel. Zum Beispiel werden 14 mal mehr Ton als P.O.L. Sorb für die Beseitigung von Konatminierungen benötigt. Da dieses Produkt viel leichter ist als Ton, sind daher die Handlungs-und Entsorgungskosten stark reduziert. Mit P.O.L. Sorb werden die Benzin - bzw. explosiven Dämpfe von 100% auf 10% herabgesetzt, was die Explosionsgefahr auf ein Minimum reduziert. P.O.L. Sorb ist hydrophob, bzw. allergisch gegen Wasser. Dies veranlasst eine effiziente Beseitigung von Kohlenwasserstoffen bei/in feuchten oder nassen Bedingungen. So brauchen Sie z.B. nur ein P.O.L. Sorb Kissen unter ihren Wagen zu legen, direkt auf den Boden, und es wird alle Lekagen der Klasse I –III auffangen, aber kein Wasser aufnehmen! 

P.O.L. Sorb ist ein nicht durchsickerndes Produkt und benutzt seine einkapselnde Eigenschaften um zu verhindern, dass die Flüssigkeiten wieder in die Umwelt freigelassen werden. Wenn Sie P.O.L. Sorb Kissen/Socken benutzen um Kontaminierungen auf Wasseroberflächen zu beseitigen, dann ist P.O.L. Sorb mit Sicherheit das richtige Produkt, denn es lässt keine Öle auf der Wasseroberfläche frei, und somit ist die Gewähr gegeben, dass keine Öle ins offene Meer fliessen.

Für die Beseitigung eines Überlaufes werden in der Regel 19 ¼ Säcke (770 Pfund) Ton gebraucht, aber nur 3 ½ Säcke (55 Pfund) P.O.L. Sorb. In diesem Fall wird P.O.L. Sorb zwar $70 kosten und TON $57.75, aber denoch ist P.O.L. Sorb eine wahre Spareinlage. Denn: 

Einkauf für P.O.L. Sorb (3.5 Säcke) kostet $70.00. Entsorgung (Verbrennung) für 1.5 Fässer kostet $168.00 mit die gesamt kosten von $238.00. 

Einkauf für Ton (19.5 Säcke) kostet $57.75. Entsorgung (Verbrennung) für 5 Fässer kostet $2,500.00 mit die gesamt kosten von $2,557.75. 

Darüber hinaus, sollten Sie auch darüber nachdenken, daß Ton-Bindemitteln erheblich schwerer sind und daher viel mehr Arbeitsaufwand benötigen und damit wesentlich kostenaufwendiger sind!

Die nachfolgene Kurzdarstellung informiert Sie über ein neues innovatives Ölbindemittel, das in seiner Wirkungsweise, seiner Handhabung und seinen Ersatzmöglichkeiten die bislang bekannten und genutzten Ölbinder übertrifft und darüber hinaus auch noch preisgünstiger zu beziehen ist.

Es handelt sich um ein reines Naturprodukt, das kontinuierlich nachwächst und durch ein bestimmtes Behandlungsverfahren seine außergewöhnliche Absorbtionsfähigkeit erhält.

In den USA wird dieser Ölbinder mit dem Handelsnamen "P.O.L. Sorb" seit einigen Jahren bevorzugt von der US Streitkräften genutzt und in zunehmendem Maße sowie mit steigendem Bekanntheitsgrad auch von der Chemischen bzw. Petrochemischen Industrie eingesetzt.

Das Produkt is hydrophob, durch eigene Enzyme bioaktiv und es unterscheidet sich zu anderen Ölbindemitteln dadurch, daß es in seinem Kapillarsystem die Kontamimierungen, wie Öl bzw. alle Arten von Kohlenwasserstoffen (inklusive PCB) in flüssiger und gasförmiger Form, sofort einkapselt und darüber hinaus in Abhängigkeit von Temperatur und Sauerstoffzufuhr die Schadstoffe weitestgehend biologisch abbaut.

Außerordentlich wirkungsvoll hat sich P.O.L. Sorb bei Leckagen, bei denen leichtflüchtige bzw. explosive Dämpfe entstehen, erwiesen. Diese Dämpfe werden sehr schnell absorbiert und dadurch die Explosionsgefahr von 100 % auf unter 10 % reduziert.

Aufgrund des geringen spezifischen Gewichtes (0,15 g/cm3) und der hydrophoben Eigenschaften von P.O.L. Sorb, ist der Einsatz bei Verunreinigungen auf Wasserflächen sehr effizient, denn selbst mit absorbierten Kontaminierungen liegt die Schwimmfähigkeit von P.O.L. Sorb bei deutlich über 95 %.

Es ist absolut gesundheitsungefährlich, umweltfreundlich, einfach in der Handhabung und erschließt neue Anwendungsmöglichkeiten in Problembereichen. Die Saugfähigkeit des Mooses ersteckt sich bis zum 8 – 10 fachen des eigenem Gewichtes.

Es gibt viele Anwendungsmöglichkeiten für P.O.L. Sorb, sei es im täglichen Arbeitsprozeß oder bei Not- oder Katastrophenfällen.

The following short description informs you of a new innovative absorbent material, whose effectiveness, handling and usefullness surpasses the more well known absorbents and is effectively less expensive.

It deals from a natural product, that continually grows and through special treatment procedure becomes exceptionally absorbent.

In the USA this absorbent with the trade name "P.O.L. Sorb" has been used for years by US armed forces and in growing numbers in the chemical and petrochemical industry.

The product is hydrophobic, through own enzymes bio-active and separates itself from other absorbents in that it immediately encapsulates the contamination (i.e., oil and all types of hydrocarbons, including PCB's) in fluid and gaseous form into its capillary system and depending on temperature and oxygen availability, naturally breaks it down the contamination.

P.O.L. Sorb

Based on the low specific weight (0.15 g/cm3) and the hydrophobic attributes of P.O.L. Sorb, its employment for spills on water surfaces becomes very efficient, because with absorbed contamination and P.O.L. Sorb have the buoyancy of more than 95%.

In the USA, P.O.L. Sorb is disposed of in landfills or incinerated and used as fuels for power plants. In Germany however the current environmental laws require it to be decomposed or must be incinerated. The moss has a heat value of about 17,000 BTU (corresponds to about 2,300 Kcal) and an ash residue of less than 5%.

It is absolutely harmless to the health, environmentally friendly, simple in the handling and opens up new possibilities in problem areas. The absorption capability of the moss is between 8- 10 times its own weight.

There are many possibilities for P.O.L. Sorb in the daily work process or in emergency response.

C’è una nuova serie di NSN's assegnato per i materiali assorbenti utilizzati nel contenimento e nell' epurazione delle cadute del POL. Questa serie di prodotti, in varie configurazioni, è molto più leggera dell’argilla e di più in condizioni ambientali favorevoli agli assorbenti tipici. Quattordici volte più argilla è richiesta che P.O.L. Sorb nel pulire le vostre cadute. Di Poiché è molto più leggera dell' argilla, la quantità di prodotto maneggiat ed i costi di eliminazione sono ridotti significativamente. I vapori di MOGAS sono ridotti da 100% a 10% con P.O.L. Sorb, quindi riducendo significativamente la probabilità di una esplosione.

P.O.L. Sorb è idrofobo, che vuol dire che non assorbe acqua. Questo permette di pulire combustibili nelle circostanze bagnate. Potete porre un rilievo sotto un veicolo, proprio a terra ed assorbirá tutto i codici di categoria I, II ed III perdite, ma non assorbirà acqua.

P.O.L. Sorb non-non-leaching, usando una caratteristica di incapsulamento che impedisce i liquidi di essere liberati nuovamente dentro l' ambiente. Di conseguenza quando usando P.O.L.
